Lessons are offered for all ages, including adults. Group lessons are offered Monday through Friday in weekly increments.
Private and semiprivate lessons are offered by appointment. For our members’ safety, we do not allow lessons offered
by potentially unqualified persons (except family members). Please register for lessons with the office staff.

Level III – 2:00 PM Advanced Levels for children who are not interested in our competitive program will
be offered at 5:30 PM.
Our program will change as we transition to an internationally recognized American Red Cross
Program. A brief review of the levels follows:
Pre-School Aquatics Pre-School Level I: 3- and 4-year olds with no water experience. Pre-School Level II: 3- and 4-year olds with ability to enter water using either ladder,
steps, or side; travel at least 5 yards; submerge to mouth; blow bubbles for at least 3 seconds; then safely exit the water
(children can walk, move along the gutter or “swim”). Pre School Level III:
3- and 4-year olds with ability to glide on front 2 body lengths, roll to back, float for 5 seconds, then recover to
vertical position. Glide on back 2 body lengths, roll to front, float for 5 seconds, then recover to vertical. Swim using
combined arm and leg actions on front for 3 body lengths, roll to back, float 5 seconds, roll to front, and continue swimming
on front for 3 body lengths.
Learn to Swim Learn to Swim Level I: 6 years and older. No water experience. Learn to Swim Level II: Enter the water and travel at least 5 yards, bob 3 times, and safely exit the water.
Glide on front at least 2 body lengths, roll to a back float for 3 seconds, and recover to a vertical position (with support
is acceptable).
Learn to Swim Level III: Step from side into chest-deep
water, move into a front float for 5 seconds, roll to back, float for 5 seconds, then return to a vertical position. Move
into a back float for 5 seconds, roll to front, then recover to a vertical position. Push off and swim combined arm and leg
actions on front for 5 body lengths, roll to back, float for 15 seconds, roll to front continue swimming 5 body lengths (assistance
with breathing is acceptable).
Learn to Swim Level IV: Show proficiency
in front crawl and elementary back stroke. Demonstrate comfort in deep water and enter head first from a sitting or kneeling
position. Jump into the deep end, swim 15 yards front crawl, maintain treading position or float for 30 seconds, and swim
15 yards elementary backstroke.
Our new swim lesson program will add an emphasis on safety to incorporate swimming
recreation as well as competition.
