A few of our Summer events:
We look forward to seeing you at the pool next season

Reveille Club:
Beginning June 20th: Monday—Friday, 6:30—10:30 AM
Lap swimming for members over 16 years of age; fresh coffee available in the office.

Water Aerobics
Begining July 1: Monday and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Class will run until August 19th.

Family Time:
Children ages 14 and younger accompanied by an adult may swim in the Red Bracelet section.
Family time is daily 11:00 AM - noon and 5:30—Close.

Raft Night with “Dollar Dogs”:
Fridays, 6:00 PM—closing beginning May 29.
Enjoy the L-Pool with your family and your favorite inflatables; hot dogs $1 while they last.
No raft will be permitted that obscures the ability of our Lifeguards to see underneath the raft or to observe the bottom of the pool. Larger rafts, with any dimension greater than 6 feet, will only be permitted in the region of the L-pool with depths greater than 4 feet. Permission to use larger rafts must be obtained from the manager on duty. These rules will be enforced to ensure the safety of our members and visitors.

Sunday Supper:
Sundays 4:30—6:30 PM; offered for sale to members and guests on a first-come basis.
Menu subject to change.

SSC Picnic Grove:
Picnic facilities available during all hours of operation. A refrigerator (with complimentary condiments) is provided for members and guests. If you would like to cook on either a gas or charcoal grill, please see a manager for assistance with the grill. Please remember, grills may not be left unattended.

Fun Pool Diversions:
Board games, cards, and basketball and Four-Square balls are available at the office. Books and magazines are also provided for your reading pleasure.

Buddy Days:
On Wednesdays, bring a friend (ages 18 and younger) with you for $1.00 and show them what makes SSC so great.

Club Swap Days:
If you are a member of Wallingford, Creekside, Rose Valley or Swarthmore Swim Club you are free to participate in Club Swap Days. Please show your valid membership card at these clubs on the days listed to have full access to the various clubs listed below.

Monday: Wallingford
Tuesday: Creekside
Wednesday: Rose Valley
Thursday: Swarthmore Swim Club

1,000 Lap Club:
Members who swim 1,000 laps over the course of one summer will earn an Annual T-shirt (while supplies last). We make it easy for you by logging your laps on a card in the office. Each length of the pool is counted as 1 lap.

50-Mile Swim:
1,000 laps not enough? Then it’s the 50-mile swim for you (that’s 3,520 laps).
We’ll still help you log your laps in the office and even give you 2 years to finish.

Swim Lessons:
Lessons are offered for anyone from age 4 years through senior citizen and will follow the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program.  Groups lessons are offered Monday through Friday in 2 week increments for 8 classes per session.  Private and semi-private lessons are offered by appointment only.  Registration will be done at the club Welcome Center only and payment is required at time of registration.  No registration will be taken over the telephone or by email.  Registration will begin 12 Noon on Saturday, June 11th.

Group Swim Lessons:
Each session will consist of 8 classes of 30 minutes each on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday over the span of two weeks.  Classes will be filled based upon space available in a first come – first served basis.  If accommodations for group lessons times or sessions need to be made for your child, such as vacations / holidays / other commitments, these need to be noted at registration. 
Class times will be each afternoon from 2:15pm to 2:45pm OR 2:45pm to 3:15pm OR 3:15pm to 3:45pm
Session One:  June 20th to July 1st
Session Two:  July 5th to July 15th
Session Three:  July 18th to July 29th
Session Four:  August 1st to August 12

Levels of Swimming Instruction:
Level 1:  Introduction to Water Skills – Getting in, getting wet and going under
Level 2:  Fundamental Aquatic Skills – Floating and getting around in the water for short distances
Level 3:  Stroke Development:  The fundamentals of freestyle & backstroke with an introduction to butterfly
Level 4:  Stroke Improvement:  The fundamentals of breaststroke, elementary backstroke and butterfly
Level 5:  Stroke Refinement:  The fundamentals of sidestroke, racing starts & turns and endurance swimming.  Completion of this level prepares a swimmer for competitive swimming.

Group Fees:
Cost per session for group lessons:
Members – $40 per session per person
Non-members - $80 per session per person

Private Lessons:
After completion of an information sheet detailing the needs / desires of swimming skills to be learned, the agenda & time for the class will be arranged directly with the instructor.  As with group lessons, registration will be done at the club Welcome Center only and payment is required at time of registration.  No registration will be taken over the telephone or by email.  Registration will begin 12 Noon on Saturday, June 11th.

Private Lesson Fees:
Cost for each private lesson:
One on One – Time to be arranged with assigned instructor. 
Private lesson(1 person) cost per lesson:  $20
Semi-private (2 persons) cost per lesson:  $40
Non-member private cost per lesson:  $25
Non-member semi-private:  $50

Additional Information:
- Parents must stay at the club during your child’s lesson.
- To ensure productive learning for everyone in each class, children might be re-assigned to a different level in a class with students of equal skills.
- Class size will be limited to 5 students
- Make up classes will NOT be offered.  If inclement weather or an instructor causes class cancellation, those classes will be re-scheduled.
